The LOTS Limits and Boundaries Module offers the world-renowned CARIS LOTS tools within a CARIS application. This functionality is enabled via an optional license setup in BASE Editor. It supports law of the sea related work such as the maintenance of the territorial sea baseline model and the geodetic calculation of maritime limits and boundaries within a desktop environment. These tools benefit from and are complemented by the latest CARIS technology available in BASE Editor. Because it is part of a seamless application, this add-in removes file-based data duplication and facilitates the maintenance of law of the sea data.
Transfer data from various sources into a modern CARIS workflow by mapping features to a new data model. The feature catalogue is an extension of the IHO S-57 v3.1 standard. This provides a platform for porting data to the emerging S-121 format. Maintenance of law of the sea features becomes easier and can coexist with hydrographic data and products.
Customized tools to allow for complete creation/management and updates of coastal state Territorial Sea Baseline Model. Among other functionalities, tools include a Wagon Wheel filter, Interactive Baseline digitizing tool, Bay Closing Reporting tool, Median and Bisector creation tools, and densification tool.
A specialized toolset allowing complete creation, updating and output of coastal state maritime boundaries. Use proven tools like the Envelope of Arcs applied to the Territorial Sea Baseline model, to manage and produce Territorial Sea, Contiguous Zone and Exclusive Economic Zone.
Explore theoretical scenarios to obtain the most advantageous results, by creating, analyzing and producing solutions for unresolved maritime boundaries. Allowing for strategic boundary negotiations with any neighbouring/opposing coastal states, where the desired outcome is a negotiated treatied boundary settlement, or a presentation of a strong maritime boundary case to international tribunals.
A variety of vector and raster formats, including web services are supported. Additionally, a rich toolset of vector data creation and editing tools are available. Paper reports, digital extracts and exports can be quickly performed to meet deliverables.
Validate, analyze, and compile datasets in a variety of formats and from multiple new and historical sources.
