Congratulations to the ITS Magnaghi hydrographic team of the Italian Navy for submitting the winning image for the 2015 CARIS calendar contest. Their submission of the Liberty Samuel Tilden shipwreck was voted the overall winner by public voting.

The hydrographic team of the ITS Magnaghi, which is the flagship survey vessel of the Italian Navy, conducted a survey of the sea facing area of the port of Bari, Italy for the safety of navigation. The Liberty Samuel Tilden shipwreck was investigated during the survey. A variety of different instruments were used to survey the shipwreck, including an underwater camera which captured the superstructure of the vessel. CARIS HIPS and SIPS was used to process and visualize the data.
