Congratulations to Dan Sweeny on being awarded the annual CARIS scholarship for the 2013/2014 academic year. Dan is a second year student of the Marine Institute's Ocean Mapping program at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador and was selected as the scholarship recipient due to his interest and understanding of CARIS technology. The award was recently presented to Dan during the Canadian Hydrographic Conference (CHC) in front of fellow students and industry professionals.
CARIS and the Marine Institute's Ocean Mapping program at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador have built a strong partnership over the years by allowing students to utilize the latest CARIS software and have access to technical and educational support, ensuring that the learning experience is as real world as possible. The CARIS scholarship was established in 2013 and recognizes a second year student of the Ocean Mapping program who demonstrates a keen interest in CARIS technology and is excelling in their studies.
