CARIS has recently completed implementation and training on CARIS Bathy DataBASE (BDB) at the Centro de Investigaciones Hidrográficas y Oceanográficas (CIOH) de la Armada de Colombia. This was an essential task in the renewal of production processes and tools at the Colombian Navy.
Training took place at CIOH facilities, in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. During the training course CARIS expert Dan Morash trained a team of hydrographers and cartographers on the characteristics of Bathy DataBASE and best practices. Dan was also on hand to install, configure and test the new system on CIOH infrastructure as well as setting up user roles and standard operating procedures.
Also, as part of the project, CIOH and CARIS performed a large data migration as part of the creation of a national bathymetry database for the country.
