CARIS recently conducted a HPD Source Editor training course with the Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Administration (KHOA) in Busan, South Korea. The course was coordinated and delivered through collaboration with HYUNDAI e-MARINE, CARIS’ strategic alliance partner for the region. The training course was led by CARIS’ Nadia Thériault.
The focus of the course was for KHOA to learn more about creating and storing source data in preparation for product creation using HPD. Topics during the training course included data integration and compilation, quality assurance and a brief overview of new tools that will be available in the upcoming release of HPD 3.0.
KHOA, under the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, has carried out hydrographic survey and oceanographic observation covering its national jurisdiction, and has established a database for the production of nautical charts, publications, and other oceanographic data.
