Congratulations to Mr. Giovanni Barracane of Coastal Consulting & Exploration in Italy for submitting the winning 2013 CARIS calendar entry. Mr. Barracane received a large mounted poster of his winning image.

The 3-D point cloud image of the giant incense burner in Muscat, Oman was acquired using an Optech ILRIS laser scanner with integrated geo-referencing and motion compensation. The survey was executed dynamically in Rapid Survey Mode with the data being brought into CARIS HIPS for data processing and visualization purposes. Recognition goes to the whole Coastal Consulting & Exploration project team for a job well done.
