The first training course jointly organized by CARIS and the Unique Maritime Group of the United Arab Emirates took place from May 8^th to May12^th.

The comprehensive five-day training course attracted marine and hydrographic professionals from ten countries to the Unique Maritime Group's headquarters in the Hamriya Free Zone of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.

The training session focused on data processing, visualization, quality control and product creation techniques using CARIS HIPS and SIPS. Areas covered included Total Propagated Uncertainty, CUBE (Combined Uncertainty and Bathymetric Estimator), 3D area based editing, the creation of 3D fly-throughs, CARIS' new side scans sonar processing techniques, and a new version of the CARIS Plot Composer.
