This release provides a new function to make it quicker and easier to transition the Onboard products into the post processing environment. Support has been added for R2Sonic multibeam backscatter mosaics. This version also provides support for laser scanner data from Hypack and the Teledyne RESON Hydrosweep system as stored in S7K format.
Real-time products generated by CARIS Onboard can now be cleared from the Onboard Service using a single command available in Control Centre. Once cleared from the service, the products are immediately available for editing or moving into the post-processing environment.
CARIS Onboard now supports R2Sonic systems through the SIPS Backscatter processing engine. Both beam average and time series processing are possible when logged in Hypack format. When SIPS Backscatter detects multispectral data, i.e. multiple concurrent frequencies stored in the logged data, SIPS will automatically produce a composite RGB colour image, where each color represents a specific frequency from the source data. The composite colour mosaic provides immediate insight into the nature of the seabed.
Data logged from RESON’s mid-to-deep-water Hydrosweep system is now supported in CARIS Onboard. This includes bathymetry and backscatter (SIPS engine).
Laser scanner data stored in either the Hypack TOP record or RMB record as spherical coordinates are now supported in Onboard.
CARIS Onboard 1.3.0 is officially supported on the Windows 7 and Windows 10 operating systems. With this release, Teledyne CARIS has discontinued the distribution of the 32-bit option for CARIS Onboard releases. Only 64-bit installations of CARIS Onboard will be provided that are compatible with Windows 7 and Windows 10 64-bit operating systems.
